First/Last Campout of the Year!!

This weekend was the Ward camp out and since I haven't been Camping once this year I had to go. It was a pretty site in Tremonton. We had a Yummy Dinner and Played my Favorite game... Ticket2Ride. Michaela found out it can be a BRUTAL game. I was demonstrating the correct way to pass in the card game Scum, when I hit Michaela's Forehead and left her a lovely scar, (no idea why I had to demonstrate passing techniques, we didn't even play Scum). The Mosquitoes came out with the lantern and made our game messy, but Luck was with Me, Luck and Skill. I WON!! I had the one and only 8 train route which helped a lot. During our game our ward did a program, which at one point included Michaela and Me leading everyone in the ever popular Sippin Cider (A Girls Camp Fav.) Daisy even came with her owners so I Dognapped her and went for a walk. The next morning we had Eggs, Sausage and Pancakes. I saw a lady in our ward eating them with Jam and Sour Cream... I had to try it out. It was DELICIOUS!! It was a good trip and made me remember how much I like Camping!!

I had a picture that was posed more gracefully, this one is the funniest though!! My Sisters Michaela and Carissa.

I just realized the branches were in front of Carissa's face. We were in a hurry to eat so didn't take time to get it perfect.

Yeah, this was in the morning, so.... My Battery was dying and we were supposed to be packing. Not the best picture, luckily Michaela's a cutie.

I'm not sure what I'm doing......

Bzzzzz Sting!!

This summer, along with working at The Ink Spot, I would sometimes watch my Cousin's Boy, Miles!! We had a blast, playing Legos, Dinosaurs and Cars. We made a few trips to the school to play on the playground and also tried out his new swimming pool. One of the many cute things he does is Bzzzzz STING!! He gets a pretend bug or his finger and goes Bzzzzzz. Once that bug gets your arm, leg, etc. he stings you. Makes me laugh. Here are some pictures of our fun together.

Miles the Bear!! This was in his box of animals, couldn't resist seeing how he looked in it!!

He really did have fun wearing it, he just didn't want me to take his picture. :)

We loved drawing with chalk!! I didn't do too bad I think, Miles loved my Dinosaur and Dragon the best.

Funny Story:
We were in the Kitchen and I saw this ambulance on the counter and got it down for Miles. Inside there was an Indian and 2 Dinosaurs. Miles pulled them out and immediately ran them over. After making sure all of them were knocked over, he then loaded them up. I couldn't stop laughing!!

Finding our Centers

Monday Nikki called me for an impromptu dinner up the mountain. She and Beau had suddenly decided Roasting Hot Dogs would be fun, and I agreed!! (I love spontaneity) They picked me up and we headed to Jubilee for some supplies.... (Nikki still has my Peanut Butter Cakesters!!) Beau's cousin Dustin was invited to join in the fun, and decided joining us would be more fun than going to the singles ward FHE (even though he was supposed to help lol) After getting our supplies we headed up to Dustin's house to prepare the Chicken (He decided to grill us some BBQ Chicken, YUM) Nikki and I did our best to supervise. Then we packed up and headed for the hills. We managed to find the perfect spot.... Seriously it was right by the water, secluded and had a great view.

At this point I'm standing right by the Fire Pit to take this picture, the running water was great background noise.

While Beau started the fire, Dustin started to set up his mini grill and Nikki and I set up camp.... it was here a few things were realized:
  • We had left the propane tanks at Nikki and Beau's, there had been no tinfoil at Dustin's so we figured we could use Dustin's Propane tank even though it was a little low, it lasted all of 3 minutes.
  • We didn't have our bug spray
  • Although this sight was great, it had no table, so instead of moving the Truck so we could use the tailgate as one, Nikki and I had to get creative..........

The legs were logs brought by us for the fire, the table top was made from pieces of a deck. Someone had brought and left the nice stuff for their fire... Crazy, but it worked out for us!!

It took a while to get the perfect coals for grilling our chicken (we just took the grill of the mini grill and stuck it on the coals) so while we waited we chatted and ate chips and Nikki's YUMMY Dip. The Chicken turned out great and we ate and chatted some more, at one point Beau explained how he loved to go to the mountains and find his center (hence the post title). Around 11:00 we decided to clean up and head home, but not without some Moose hunting, we didn't see any, not even with some great Moose calls!! We saw 2 Deer though, just running in the brush, and a Giant Moth got stuck in Dustin's truck and flew at me a couple times.

For a while I was sad that I hadn't taken a picture of us all, but then I remembered I had taken one!! When looking at this picture I am sure many of you have questions or comments about it, I figured I would make a few points about it to clear things up....
  • I'm sure you are wondering why Beau is wearing a suit..... He is just fancy like that!! We told him he didn't have to impress anyone but he just wouldn't listen.
  • Also, Beau has great posture..... look at how straight he is standing.
  • No Nikki didn't magically grow out her hair, it's just the lighting that makes it look long.
  • Yes that is Dustin, not Johnny Knoxville. The first time I met Dustin he had shaggy hair and when I saw him again it was SHORT!! I had to do a double take to make sure it was him. I mentioned that with his aviators on he looked just like Johnny, so I understand if you are thinking to yourself "man it looks just like she copied a picture of Johnny Knoxville from the internet into paint, cut around in and pasted it onto some random mountain picture."

Aunt Miss Jacque!!

I'm sure Ashley will make fun of me, but remember this is my Journal that will be a book someday, so I'm trying to do plenty of posts. And what kind of Journal wouldn't include this exciting news?? I'm going to be an AUNT!!! YAY!! Congratulations Ashley and Curtis!! Can't wait for March for my little Niece or Nephew!!

Kloe D

I didn't get any photographs at the actual blessing, but I figured any picture would do. Last Sunday she was blessed with family and friends to witness the event. It was great to see all my cousins. I'm really impressed with how reverent all the kids were, seeing as there are 16 (Plus the Zager cousins) :) Afterwards we all headed over to Neola Elementary for some food and fun. At one point the Hula Hoops even came out to add to the fun!! Congratulations to Ky and Duane on blessing their adorable Baby Girl. Kloe D, you are a Cutie!!

UBIC: Eddie Money and Fireworks

Ok, Last post for August 1st. This is the Concert in the Park featuring Eddie Money. I didn't know really any of his songs, but he was good. Thanks to the Bakers for adopting me and letting me join their family for the day. I really liked checking out the booths (One especially caught my eye and money) I got some new beads and a new Face for my growing watch collection. :) We made sure to get some Mini Doughnuts and Funnel Cakes. YUMMY!!

Ryland using his snake sword as sunglasses!! Stylin!!

I just wanna squeeze this kid all day!! He's so cute, and just a hoot.

Alyssa got her toy stuck on her face!! AHHH (She may have done it on purpose)

Poor Sarah, no she is not tired, she was a little upset that she didn't get a sword like Ryland, instead she got a bracelet. Poor girl. ;)

Me showing my joy at being at UBIC!! :)

The Funnel Cakes were good, REAL GOOD!!

The night ended with some pretty impressive Fireworks!! They were beautiful and the Patriotic music playing made it perfect. Great end to a Great day!!

UBIC: Fun in the Park

This is the same day as the Parade but I didn't want my post to be SUPER long. So you will get 3 post about the same day. After the Parade we went to the park for some Arts and Crafts. There were boots to decorate and googily bugs to make. There was a bunch of Cowboy things to see and do (Shoeing process, Cowboy poetry, Roping tutorial...)

Roasting Hot Dogs in the Mountains

Thursday we decided to head on up to the Mountains to roast Hot Dogs and Marshmallows with the Zagers. (my cousins) I got home from work to find Kylene and her kids there and the plans had changed...... We were just going to do our roast in the backyard. We were joking around about how easy it would be if we just did them in the oven when someone mentioned Octopus Hot Dogs. I had never heard of them until that day, you slit a Hot Dog about 3/4 of the way up several times and then boil them. While boiling the slits (or legs) curl up!! Somehow it was decided that we would boil us up some Octopuses for the kids while the Adults got Round Robin (a delicious place to eat). We got the kids all set up and then Min and I sneaked off to get our Dinners. While waiting we decided to try this........

We were tempted to eat it all at the restaurant, but in the end decided to share.

Yep this was an interesting trip to the Mountains. :)
